English Phrasal Verbs UNIT-4

37. (be)all in (idiom) = be very tired (သိပ္ေမာေနသည္)
I've been working hard and I'm all in.

38. (be) off = 1. leave (သြားေတာ့မည္၊ ထြက္သြားသည္)
Well, I'll be off now.
2. be cancelled (ျပဳလုပ္ထားေသာ အစီအစဥ္ဖ်က္သည္)
Our picnic for next Sunday is off.

39. (be) on = 1. be fixed to take place.
(က်င္းပရန္အစီအစဥ္လုပ္ထားသည္)
The party is on again in spite of the problems.

2. be showing (movie etc.) (ရုပ္ရင္၊ ျပဇာတ္ ျပေနသည္)
There's a new James Bond movie on at the Gon.

40. (Idiom) You're on = (in betting) I accept your bet. (အေလာင္းအစားကိုလက္ခံသည္)
You think you can beat me at chees. All right. you're on.

41. (be) on to = be aware of, especially a trick or dishonest act
(ကလိမ္က်ျခင္းကို ရိပ္မသည္)
You can't cheat me. I'm on to you.

42. (be) out = be out of the house, office, etc.
(အိမ္၊ သို႔မဟုတ္ ရံုးအျပင္ထြက္ေနသည္)
I'm sorry, my father is out at the moment.

43. (be) out of = have no. (ကုန္ေနသည္၊ မရွိေတာ့ဘူး)
We're out of sugar. (We have finished all over sugar and we have no sugar.)

44. (be) over = 1. come (ေရာက္လာသည္)
He'll be over in a few minutes.

2. come to an end(ၿပီးဆံုးသည္)
The lecture will be over at 3 pm.

45. (be)
through(with) = finish (ၿပီးသြားသည္၊ အဆက္ျဖတ္သည္)
1. Are you through with the book I lent you?
2. She said she was through with him and gave him back his ring.

46. (be) up = 1. be out of bed (အိပ္ရာမွထသည္)
I'm usually up by five.
2. (of time) be finished (သိပ္မွတ္ထားေသာအခ်ိန္ ၿပီးဆံုးသည္)
Well, boys, the time is up. Hand in your papers.

47. (be) up against = be faced with (ရင္ဆိုင္ရမည္)
Having lost all his money, he's up against a lot of trouble.

48. (be) up and about = 1. be active (လႈပ္ရွားေနသည္)
The old man is up and about at 5 every morning.
2. be active after an illness (ေနေကာင္းသြားၿပီး လွဳပ္ရွားႏိုင္လာသည္)
The doctor says I'll be up and about next week.

49. (be) up to = 1. be doing something secretly. (မေကာင္းတာတစ္ခုခုလုပ္ရန္ႀကံစည္သည္)
The boy is always loitering in this street.
What is he up to?

He's still weak. He is not up to going out.

50. (be) well up in = be expert in; be well versed in. (ကၽြမ္းက်င္သည္၊ ေတာ္သည္)
Our firm needs a person who is well up in accounts.

51. bear out = support; comfirm (ေထာက္ခံသည္)
What I'm saying is true. John will bear me out.

52. bear up = tolerate; be able to suffer (ခံႏိုင္ရည္ရွိသည္)
I can't bear up this pain.

53. beat down = shine strongly; pour down;
(အလြန္ေတာက္ပသည္၊ ျပင္းထန္စြာရြာသည္)
The sun was beating down while the farmers toiled in their fields.

54. beat up = best strongly (ျပင္းထန္စြာ ရိုက္ႏွက္သည္)
The robber beat up his victim.
