English Phrasal Verbs UNIT-1

ခုတေလာ Connection မေကာင္းတာနဲ႔ Upload လုပ္လို႔မစဥ္မေျပဘူးျဖစ္ေနတယ္ဗ်ာ..
အဲဒီေတာ့ အစဥ္ေျပတာေလးေတြ တင္မယ္ဗ်ာ ဆိုေတာ့ အားလံုးအတြက္ အက်ိဳးရွိေအာင္ ဘာတင္ရင္ေကာင္းမလဲလို႔ စဥ္းစားၾကည့္တယ္။ အဲ့ဒါနဲ႔ဘဲ ဆရာပီေအာင္ခင္ေရးထားတဲ့ English Phrasal Verbs ကို တင္ဖို႔ အေတြးေပါက္လာတယ္ ဒါနဲ႔ဘဲ တင္ျဖစ္သြားတယ္။
ဆရာ့ရဲ႕ ခြင့္ျပဳခ်က္မရဘဲ တင္ရတာကိုေတာ့ ၀မ္းနည္းပါတယ္။ အမ်ားအတြက္ဆိုေတာ့ ဆရာနားလည္လိမ့္မယ္ထင္ပါတယ္။
အမွန္တကယ္ေတာ့ Scan ေလးဖတ္ၿပီးတင္ရင္ပိုအစဥ္ေျပတာေပါ့ ဒါေပမယ့္ ကၽြန္ေတာ့္မွာ Scanner မရွိတဲ့အတြက္ နားလည္ေပးပါ။

1. act on/ upon = do what is advised or suggested; do something definite about. (အႀကံေပးသည့္အတိုင္းလုပ္သည္)
I have decided to act on your advice.

2. act up = behave badly; give trouble (ပူဆာသည္၊ ဒုကေပးသည္)
The children have been acting up the whole day.
My car has been acting up lately.

3. add in = insert; put in (ျဖည့္ထည့္သည္)
Please add in my name to the list of people who wish to go to Ngapali.

4. add up = total (ေပါင္းထည့္သည္)
Please add up these figures for me.

5. agree with – 1. be of the same opinion (သေဘာတူသည္)
I agree with you in this mater.
2. be good for the health (က်န္းမာေရးႏွင့္ ညီညႊတ္သည္)
The climate of Pyin Oo Lwin seems to agree with you.

6. allow for = remember someone’s weakness or difficulties when judging him, take into consideration. (ထည့္သြင္းစဥ္းစားသည္)
Don’t ask him to do that hard work. You should allow for his poor health.
When buying this kind of material you should allow for shrink-age in the washing.

7. answer back = reply rudely (ဘုက်က် ျပန္ေျပာသည္)
He answered his mother back when she asked him why he was late.

8. answer for = be responsible for. (ေျဖရွင္းရမည္)
If the work is not finished by four this evening, you’ll have to answer for it to the manager.

9. ask after = enquire about someone’s health.
(က်န္းမာေရးအေၾကာင္းေမး၀ည္)
Tell your father that I asked after him.

10. ask for = request. (ေတာင္းသည္)
I asked my uncle for some money.

11. ask for trouble (idiom) = invite trouble unnecessarily.
(တမင္တကာ ကုိယ့္ဒုကကိုယ္ရွာသည္)
You’re asking for trouble by driving so fast.

12. ask for it! (idiom) = invite trouble
(တမင္တကာ ကိုယ့္ဒုကကိုယ္ရွာသည္)
He drove after drinking and met with an accident.
Well, he asked for it!
